OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed on the Staff Gateway and via email to identified OxTalks users.

The purpose is to prompt discussion between different perspectives on how LLMs are being employed in research. The rapid development and advancements in models are changing how researchers perform their work – but this is being done ad hoc and disparately. As a community we are in dire need to accelerate discussion of ethical and practical considerations to help navigate this changing landscape.
The meeting will start with some short talks to give a snapshot of the current state and trajectory – followed by a discussion to gather common themes, and what lessons and questions arise.
We hope this will lead to new connections and potential collaborations to explore this area as projects – but also just a means to spark thinking and discussion around this rapidly evolving topic.
Coffee and tea will be provided!
