PERSONAL INSIGHTS INTO RACE, RESISTANCE AND POLITICS IN SOUTH AFRICA
Race and Resistance is honored to host Peter Gastrow, former Member of the South African Parliament and a member of the National Peace Committee, as our term’s headline speaker. In addition to discussing his personal life and political career, Gastrow will engage with panelists on his role in negotiating the South African peace process in the 1990s, his public service during the country’s transition into a democratic government and on contemporary South African political and racial issues. In addition to his distinguished political and humanitarian achievements, Peter Gastrow has served on the United Nation’s Convention Against Transnational Crime, as a member of International Peace Institute, and as the Vice Chairman of Kenya’s National Task Force on Police Reform.
