OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Ethics of Photography in International Development | A conversation with Ethiopian Humanitarian photographer Martha Tadesse
Photography can be an incredibly powerful tool to document international development, social justice or environmental issues. However, it can also reinforce problematic narratives as well as entrenched power dynamics. In this conversation with humanitarian photographer Martha Tadesse, we will reflect on photography ethics, decolonising the gaze, as well as issues of representation, power dynamics and consent, and how we can all improve our practices.
