OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Pakistan Elections: Expectations, realities and the path forward
This is a hybrid event.
After two years of political crisis, Pakistan cast its ballots in the general elections on 8 February 2024. Defying all odds, independent candidates supported by the jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s PTI won the largest number of seats. Yet, the two other major leading parties – PML and PPP – have joined hands to establish a coalition government. This election – its planning, turnout as well as the outcome – has surprised many.
Join us for an event featuring leaders from the PTI, PML and PPP as we delve into Pakistan’s recent elections, exploring expectations, realities, and the path forward. Former Ministers Hammad Azhar (PTI), Hina Rabbani Khar (PPP) and Ahsan Iqbal (PML-N) will be joined by expert commentators Professor Adeel Malik, Michael Kugelman and Professor Maya Tudor.
This event is co-hosted by the Oxford South Asian Society.
