Has it come to this? An Interactive Workshop on Power, Justice, and CO₂ Removal
The Agile Initiative, in partnership with DPhil Candidate Aissa Dearing at the School of Geography and the Environment, are excited to present an interactive workshop on carbon dioxide removal (CDR), exploring the social, political, and justice dimensions of this rapidly evolving climate response. Through a facilitated game, participants will step into roles—from activists to regulators to workers—to navigate the tradeoffs, tensions, and possibilities of land-based and industrial carbon removal projects. This workshop invites reflection on power, trust, and environmental equity while building shared understanding of CDR’s real-world stakes. No prior knowledge required. Meal and refreshments will be provided by Za’atar Bake.
