Politics, History, and the Islamic Tradition
Seminar 3 explores debates about the ontology of the modern state, the genealogy of modern ideologies, and the relationship of both to the Islamic tradition of political thought.
The Oxford Islam and Justice Programme aims to provide a grounding in the academic and ideological debates surrounding the relationship between Islamic views of justice and the modern liberal order. It comprises five 2-hour seminars, with associated readings, in Michaelmas 2024, taught by leading academics in the field.
