OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
We are excited to announce the call for papers for the 2026 Oxford Graduate Conference in Political Theory.
We welcome submissions from students pursuing graduate degrees in any department and working in any area of political theory—including but not limited to critical theory, analytic political philosophy, and the history of political thought. We especially encourage students from other institutions to submit their work for consideration, and we also accept applications from current students at Oxford.
To apply, please submit a full paper (5,000-9,000 words, excluding bibliographic footnotes and references), as well as a title and an abstract (200 words maximum), using the link provided. Each selected presenter will be asked to deliver a brief talk to open the discussion of their paper, and we will make papers available to attendees shortly before the conference. The deadline to submit is 31 January 2026, 11:59pm GMT.
We ask that you submit your abstract directly in the text box in the online form and that you upload your paper as a PDF with the word count clearly stated and without your name or identifying information indicated anywhere in the document, to enable anonymous review. Applicants can expect to hear back from the conference organisers by the end of February.
The conference will be held on the 27th and 28th of April 2026, in person at Nuffield College, University of Oxford (keynote speakers TBC). We are able to offer a limited number of small grants to help cover travel costs for attendees without access to institutional funding.
Please direct any inquiries regarding the conference to the conference email address: OxGradConference@outlook.com
