V&A Queering the Museum Workshop
To mark the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia on May 17th, TORCH and Queer Studies Network have a few thought-provoking events lined up for you at the Pitt Rivers Museum!
Join co-chairs of the Victoria & Albert Museum’s LGBTQ Working Group for a queering the museum workshop to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Hear about their work and how they find and research museum objects of LGBTQ interest, highlighting some of the different types of events they’ve put together in the process to publicise their discoveries. This will be followed by a discussion based around how you can implement these ideas into your own work/future plans.
The workshop is primarily aimed at those working in or interested in working in the museums and heritage industry as well as those in relevant subject areas, but anybody with a passion for museums and LGBTQ+ history is most welcome!
