Painting - Sound + Contemporary Rhythms

An artist talk by Andrew Pierre Hart with focus on ideas around sound, painting and physical space:

“We will dance and play through some of the ideas and influences that structure Hart’s practice. Rhythmic Hues Usually in Blue reconstructs the idea of how we utilise painting and painting languages. In particular, it is the continual performance of painting bridged with the chosen subject of sound that forms a practice that generates and iterates itself as a contemporary painting form. Hart will also discuss Talking Jazz as an improvisatory and spontaneous structure for image, making a continued back drop for his work.”

Andrew Pierre Hart’s practice is inter-disciplinary, based in Painting. The main focus of his work is the symbiotic relationship between sound and painting. It is an ongoing rhythmic research and play of improvised and spontaneous generative processes through various mediums: Sound, Video, Performance, Found object and Image, Language, Photography, Installation and re-constructed languages.
Andrew Pierre Hart is an Associate Lecturer on MA Painting at The Royal College of Arts, guest lecturer at Royal Academy, Chelsea College of Arts, Camberwell, Central St Martins, Sound Arts at LCC Artist Talks at Slade, Chelsea College of Arts, Tate Modern, The Arts Club, and NAFA UAL.
