Rebuilding From Conflict
Facebook Event
Paul Jackson is Professor of African Politics and Director of the International Development Department at the University of Birmingham.
He specialises in conflict and security with an emphasis on African security. His research into post-war Sierra Leone is particularly well known and has led to his broader interest in post-conflict reconstruction and democratic renewal following violent conflict in Africa. He has also been involved in many high-profile policy-making activities with governmental organisations in the UK and abroad, including the UK Ministry of Defence and Foreign Office, the UN Security Council and the OECD.
In 2017, he was appointed leader of the British Academy’s Sustainable Development Programme, a series of major research projects that will work to eliminate poverty.
