Cut the Waste! Industrial Policy Beyond Materials
Join us for Cut the Waste! Industrial Policy Beyond Materials, a timely conversation co-organised with Oxford Martin School’s Rethinking Natural Resources Programme (ReSET) on how to build truly circular and sustainable economies through smarter industrial policy. We will have the opportunity to hear from experts like Meriem A., Manuel Albaladejo, Diana Barrowclough, Jonathan Blundy, and Jose Bruno Feveirero.

While climate change often dominates sustainability debates, this event turns our attention to the hidden costs of material waste, pollution, and overconsumption—and how policy and industry can move beyond narrow fixes.

The panel will explore:

– Rethinking circularity as industrial strategy

– The economics and politics of product durability

– How the rental economy might reshape waste management

– The mining cost of the green transition and mineral reuse

– Business and policy strategies for a truly waste-less economy
