STORIES Conference 2022
STORIES (STudents’ Ongoing Research In Educational Studies) is an annual conference hosted by the University of Oxford’s Department of Education. Our mission is to support graduate research and foster networks between students, faculty, and colleagues across the field of education, from Oxford and beyond.

Our theme for 2022 is Global and Communal Perspectives on Language, Educational Policy and Pedagogy. With social twists, political turns, and medical breakthroughs, the past few years have irrevocably altered educational research. From COVID-19 to Black Lives Matter to the technological impacts of video conferencing on children in schools, never before has research, activism, or student-oriented pedagogy applied so extensively to teaching and learning. As researchers and students, we have each uniquely and personally been impacted by events that have influenced our simultaneously globalized and hyper-localized worlds, and we want to hear about it. From the way children develop language and identity to federal education laws, it is fitting that the STORIES theme this year is “Global and Communal Perspectives on Language, Educational Policy and Pedagogy.”

This year’s conference will be a two-day online event, hosted on Monday, March 14th (10:00 – 18:00 GMT) and Tuesday, March 15th (10:00 – 18:00 GMT).
