OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

The Ethics of Anti-Aging
A new era of anti-aging technologies will result in a world of fewer deaths. But how will this impact society? Will Earth become overpopulated? Will we run out of resources? Will this technology only be accessible to the wealthy? Will dictators become immortal?
David Wood will be addressing these questions in his talk entitled, “The strengths and weaknesses of objections to radical life extension”.
David Wood is a full-time futurist speaker, analyst, commentator, and writer. He is the author or lead editor of nine books including “The Abolition of Aging”, “Transcending Politics”, and “Sustainable Superabundance”. In 2009 David was included in T3’s list of “100 most influential people in technology”. Alongside his paid consulting activities, David is the chair of London Futurists – a non-profit meetup organisation with over 8,000 members. David will be discussing attitudes towards radical life extension, and common philosophical objections to anti-aging technologies.
