Polypharmacy in Older Adults – Challenges and Technological Advances
As more older adults live with long-term conditions, there is rise in the use of more than one medication in the management of their health. Inappropriate polypharmacy may have societal consequences such as more prevalent adverse drug effects and increased healthcare costs. In this webinar, Professor Nina Barnett (London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust & Visiting Professor, Kingston University, London) and Professor John Overington (CIO, Medicines Discovery Catapult) will discuss challenges and current research to tackle the challenge of polypharmacy in older adults.
