In order to achieve net zero by 2050, the UK government has highlighted the crucial role that low carbon hydrogen will play in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors. Specifically, the UK government set the target to achieve 5GW of low carbon hydrogen capacity by 2030. Becca will discuss the opportunities and challenges in expanding the electrolytic hydrogen market from an industry perspective, highlighting current projects under development. This talk will explore how the current policies and government process supports hydrogen as part of the net zero transition with a deeper dive into how this applies to the UK’s largest government supported electrolytic hydrogen project called Bradford Low Carbon Hydrogen.
