Conall Watson will speak about Ebola ring vaccination; Ifedayo Adetifa about Vaccine impact studies and implications for vaccine policy: case studies from Kenya.
The Zaire ebolavirus can cause extensive high-mortality outbreaks. Transmission can now be prevented through vaccination with rVSV-ZEBOV (V920). This talk with describe the epidemiological design and development of “Ebola ça Suffit”, the smallpox-inspired, cluster-randomised, ring vaccination efficacy trial deployed in Guinea during the West African epidemic, and will outline how the rVSV-ZEBOV vaccine has been used for outbreak control.
