Economics and the NHS – where is the value in that?
This webinar is part of the Management in Medicine Programme.
Is there enough money? Are we using resources well? Are we able to help those who most need it? How can we secure funds for improvement? Health and care professionals face these difficult questions on a daily basis. They know that the answers can have a direct impact on health outcomes, the experience of care for patients and staff, and ensuring that limited funds are stretched as far as possible. Can economics help to answer some of these questions?
During this seminar, Jacque explores the economic paradigm of the NHS, and how economics can help grow value through cycles of improvement. The workshop is organised in two parts:
Part A: The economics of the system
Who pays for what and how does the money flow?
Who plays what role and what influences them
Part B: Using the economic lens to drive value over time
What role does economics play in improvement cycles?
How can economics help health and care professionals accelerate value?
