Synthetic Biology through directed evolution
The Oxford University Society for Synthetic Biology (SynBio.Oxford) is very pleased to be hosting Dr Vitor Pinheiro (University College London) next week Wednesday. Dr Pinheiro is one of the UK’s leading Synthetic Biologists and an expert on the use of directed evolution to develop new enzyme tools and functions. Amongst other projects his groups studies the use of so-called Xeno-Nucleic Acids (XNAs) to create insulated genetic systems, and the engineering of aminoacyl tRNA synthetase proteins.
