OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Synthetic Biology through directed evolution
The Oxford University Society for Synthetic Biology (SynBio.Oxford) is very pleased to be hosting Dr Vitor Pinheiro (University College London) next week Wednesday. Dr Pinheiro is one of the UK’s leading Synthetic Biologists and an expert on the use of directed evolution to develop new enzyme tools and functions. Amongst other projects his groups studies the use of so-called Xeno-Nucleic Acids (XNAs) to create insulated genetic systems, and the engineering of aminoacyl tRNA synthetase proteins.
