OxTalks is Changing
On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

What a Country!: COVID-19’s Encounter with Nigeria
Please join us for a joint seminar between Geography and GHSM at King’s College London.
Dr Tolulope Osayomi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Ibadan, specializing in spatial epidemiology, spatial demography, global health, and the geography of pandemics. With a PhD in Medical Geography, his research focuses on the intersection of disease, health, and African society. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, Dr Osayomi founded and led the COVID-19 Mapping Lab at the University of Ibadan, significantly enhancing the geovisualization and public understanding of the pandemic in Nigeria and Africa.
Currently, Dr Osayomi is an AfOx-TORCH Visiting Fellow at the Centre for the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology, Faculty of History, University of Oxford. His project at Oxford, “Deconstructing the African COVID-19 Paradox: African Voices in Global Health,” seeks to challenge Western-centric notions of Africa and global health narratives by highlighting African resilience and perspectives during the pandemic.
