Lord Deben, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change, talks to OCS
The Rt Hon Lord Deben is a member of the House of Lords and Chairman of the independent Committee on Climate Change. He has served for sixteen years as a British minister in the governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major, and was Environment Secretary from 1992 to 1997, which makes him the longest serving Environment Secretary the UK has ever had. He has also been called “the best Environment Secretary we ever had” by the NGO community, and is one of the UK’s most senior climate politicians. Today, he chairs the Committee on Climate Change which advises the UK government on its climate policy.

We are looking forward to his address to the Oxford Climate Society, followed by time for questions from the audience.
