OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Genetic Determinants of Ferroptosis in Human Cancer

Dr Jen-Tsan Ashley Chi is a Full Professor of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology and co-leader of the Cancer Biology Program at Duke Cancer Institute. He obtained his MD from National Taiwan University in Taiwan and his PhD at Stanford University. After post-doctoral training with Pat Brown at Stanford University, he joined the faculty at Duke University. His works focus on using functional genomic approaches to investigate the nutrient signalling and stress adaptions of cancer cells. His work has been recognized by AACR Micahel Kastan Award in Research Excellence, Burroughs Wellcome and the American Society of Clinical Investigators. In this talk, he will describe their work on the genetic determinants of ferroptosis.
