OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

On Friday, 26 March, The Philosophical Café invites you to join us in the discussion ‘Alchemy, Experiment and English History’ with Jennifer M. Rampling (Princeton), at 6pm GMT (UK), 7pm GMT+1 (Central Europe), 8pm GMT+2 (Eastern Europe), 2pm Eastern (US), 11am Pacific (US). Please note the time change as the US has passed to the Daylight Savings Time, but Europe has not done so yet.
Jennifer will be discussing her new book, The Experimental Fire: Inventing English Alchemy, 1300-1700 (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2020). The discussion will be hosted by Jo Hedesan (Oxford) and Dana Jalobeanu (Bucharest).
The event will take place via Zoom and will also be streamed live on YouTube at youtu.be/JLTAO2OhD20. A trailer will be available on our YouTube channel in the upcoming days, at www.youtube.com/c/Cafeneauafilosofica (to receive notifications from YouTube please subscribe to the channel).
