OxTalks is Changing

On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).

There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Learning from Deep History: The World of Stonehenge

The World of Stonehenge exhibition was held at the British Museum in the first half of 2022 and was seen by over 190,000 people. The first major exhibition of its kind, it garnered great critical acclaim but also surprised visitors by displaying objects not just from Stonehenge but from across Britain, Ireland and north-west Europe, reflecting a time of deep connections, travel and big ideas. Organised in partnership with the State Museum of Prehistory, Halle/Saale, Germany, the exhibition was supported by generous loans from museums across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe. This talk reflects on some of the moving stories that the exhibition told, the lessons we learnt while staging the exhibition, and the growing relevance of deep history to society and the public today.
