James Hawes, The Shortest History of Germany

James Hawes came to Oxford to study German and history at Hertford in 1978. ‘The Shortest History of Germany’ has been translated into over 20 languages and has sold 100,000 copies in Germany alone.

James has appeared on ARD’s Hart Aber Fair, shared a platform with CDU big beast Peter Altmaier, had a cover of the New Statesman and, most recently, appeared on Sky News to discuss the results of the 2021 election.
