OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Oxford Political Review Issue Launch Event: Solidarity and Solitude
The Oxford Political Review, a termly magazine of politics affiliated with the Department of Politics and International Relations, is launching a new issue on ‘Solidarity and Solitude’. The theme explores how our political world is shaped by competing impulses: on the one hand, to act for a ‘greater good’ or feel part of a national ‘whole’, but on the other hand to act as alone – from the secrecy of the voting booth to economic self-interest.
The talk will take the form of a moderated discussion and audience Q&A. Copies of the new issue will be available for pickup at the event.
The panel will feature:
Dr Dace Dzenovska, an Associate Professor in the Anthropology of Migration at the School of Anthropology & Museum Ethnography, University of Oxford. Her work revolves around the themes of space, place, and power, sovereignty, empire, capitalism, migration, liberalism and nationalism, and the intersection of postsocialist and postcolonial/decolonial perspectives.
Dr Arran J. Davis, a Departmental Lecturer at the Centre for the Study of Social Cohesion, University of Oxford, and a Junior Research Fellow at Wadham College. His research investigates how socioeconomic status and social connection interact to influence mental wellbeing and long-term health.
