OxTalks is Changing

On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).

There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Economics Research Jamboree

The idea of the Economics Research Jamboree is to get together to share ideas and to promote across-field and interdisciplinary research both for the benefits that broader perspectives bring to research, but also to begin to establish communities of scholars ready to apply for significant external research funding.
We will host 5 different sessions over 4 days. Rather than comprising purely of the traditional presentation-based workshop format, there will be different forms of interaction and time for discussion and engagement.
The themes that will be covered are:
Monday 19th – Trade – hosted by Paola Conconi and Banu Demir
Tuesday 20th (AM) – Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG) – hosted by Doug Gollin
Tuesday 20th (PM) – Theory & Experiments – hosted by Margaret Meyer and Severine Toussaert
Wednesday 21st (AM) – Theory & Experiments – hosted by Margaret Meyer and Severine Toussaert
Wednesday 21st (PM) – History, Development & Political Economy – hosted by Stephen Broadberry
Thursday 22nd (AM) – History, Development & Political Economy – hosted by Stephen Broadberry
Friday 24th – DPhil presentations for Job Market Candidates followed by the End of Year Celebration.
After the Friday session, we will have the End of Year Celebration at St Anne’s, as chance to gather and celebrate together.
