OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Sir Roger Scruton (1944-2020) was a philosopher, writer, and commentator of tremendous energy and genius. From smuggling books into the Soviet Union to composing operas to shepherding the Building Better commission, nothing was beyond the scope of his talents. He also taught for many years at Oxford University, where he left behind countless friends.
The annual Scruton lectures aim to honour his legacy by providing the very highest level of academic, cultural, and political discourse to everyone in Oxford, regardless of affiliation of any kind, free of charge.
