Lunar Activity Day

Come and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing with us!

On Saturday 20 July the Bodleian will come alive with all things lunar.

Get hands-on with real meteorites and make a Moon souvenir. Listen to live music, learn about lunar geology through song, and hear Moon stories from around the world. Engage with our display in the Proscholium and hear talks by our academics in Blackwell Hall. Find out about such topics as the temperature of the surface of Moon, and why there is art in outer space.

The Activity Day is a family friendly drop in and runs from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free! Space-themed dress welcome, but not essential!

Lunar: We Look to the Moon is brought to you by a multidisciplinary team of academics drawn from the Department of Earth Sciences, the Department of Physics, the Oxford Internet Institute’s Cabinet team, and the Rothermere American Institute.
