OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Oxford Technology & Security Nexus
Meetings feature speakers and/or discussions across a spread of topics at the intersection of technology, politics, security, and conflict, including the impact of AI, cyber security dynamics and geopolitics, disinformation and deepfakes, satellite production and outer space politics, and the impact of emerging technologies on inequality and conflict. The Oxford Technology and Security Nexus is strongly interdisciplinary and features membership and regular attendance from more than ten different Oxford departments or centers. The group ultimately aims to break down siloes between academic research and policy/security practitioners’ work, demystify the political and security implications of new technologies, and foster better findings- and ideas-sharing among the broader Oxford community invested in these topics.
Attendance to all sessions is open to graduate students and members of the academic or policy communities. Group attendance may be limited; it is encouraged for all interested participants to contact callum.harvey@oii.ox.ac.uk in advance to secure their place.
Topics will be confirmed a week in advance. Some background knowledge or experience of the topic is recommended but not required.
