On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.
If you have any questions, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Should there be more or less migration to the UK?
How do we ensure conversations on ‘difficult’ issues take place in a respectful and courteous manner? This debate will introduce a framework of ‘tips’ to promote free speech developed by Oxford students and academics. Chaired by Worcester College Provost David Isaac, the debate will give space to speakers from both sides of the argument, including current students. Among other guests, they’ll be joined by CEO of the Refugee Council Enver Solomon, and University of Kent Professor of Politics Matt Goodwin.
This event has been organised in collaboration with Balliol College, Brasenose College, Mansfield College and Somerville College.
Please note that the Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre is located approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the main entrance to Worcester College and you should therefore allow adequate time to reach the venue. Entrance is via the main Porters’ Lodge on Walton Street (OX1 2HB).
