A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Dan Snow is a TV historian and author who was part of the expedition that discovered the wreck of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship, the Endurance, in 2022. Dan returns to Balliol to recount this extraordinary experience and to explain how he has tried to build a career as a public historian. He studied history at Balliol 1998-2001 and joined the BBC shortly after. Ever since, he has been making documentaries, podcasts, social posts and has even written a book or two.
