OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Barney Ronay, Chief Sports Writer for The Guardian, will be ‘In Conversation’ with Professor David Taylor. The event will take place on Monday 3 March at 5.30pm in Lecture Theatre 2, St Cross Building. All welcome.
Barney Ronay is one of the most respected and influential sports journalists working in Britain. He is Chief Sports Writer for The Guardian and regularly appears on The Guardian’s Football Weekly podcast. He was named ‘writer of the year’ by the Football Supporters Federation in 2018 and again 2022, and was awarded ‘football journalist of the year’ by the Sports’ Journalists’ Association in 2020. Barney is also the author of How Football (Almost) Came Home: Adventures in Putin’s World Cup (2018), The Manager: The Absurd Ascent of the Most Important Man in Football (2010), Any Chance of a Game? A Season at the Ugly End of Park Football (2006). He is an alumnus of the Faculty of English and Mansfield College.
Barney will be discussing a range of topics, from the politics of sport to the changing nature of Britain’s media landscape and his experience of covering events such as the Olympics and World Cup.
