OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

The talk promises to be very interesting, ending the Christ Church History Society’s (S.R. Gardiner Society) year of events by returning to the (Re-)Founder of Christ Church itself, Henry VIII. From a leading academic on sixteenth century British history, the talk will examine the reputation of Henry VIII down the ages, but more importantly, how Henry VIII viewed himself, and how that can influence our own interpretations of him.
