Despite reductions in child mortality globally, the risk of dying during and after acute illnesses is high in low- and middle-income countries. The Childhood Acute Illness & Nutrition (CHAIN) Network is a collaboration of nine research sites in six sub-Saharan African and South Asian countries. The CHAIN cohort study followed acutely ill children during and after hospitalization to identify modifiable pathways to improve survival among high-risk children in low- and middle-income country settings.

In this webinar, the CHAIN Network will:

• Present quantitative and qualitative findings from the CHAIN cohort study
• Provide an overview of where CHAIN is now and next steps
