On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Scientific publishing aims to disseminate knowledge within and between scientific communities, with the most influential research impacting beyond field-specific experts. To avoid misinformation, there is a responsibility to balance rapid access to cutting-edge findings with ensuring that published data are robust, reproducible and substantiate the conclusions that are made. In my talk, I will outline the process a manuscript undergoes at Science, from submission to publication, the role of the professional editor and what editors look for when considering papers. Moreover, I will highlight initiatives at the journal that are aimed towards maintaining integrity and precision whilst building the scientific record.
