OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Oxford Castle & Prison welcomes you for a book launch with Sharon Bennett Connolly and her latest book Women of the Anarchy. Tour the site where Empress Matilda was besieged and made her dramatic escape, and hear about the book from the author herself.
Join us for a 30 minute guided tour of St George’s Tower and Crypt, author talk with Q&A, followed by book signing, a glass of wine and late night gift shop opening.
About the Author
Sharon Bennett Connolly is a celebrated author who has written extensively on Medieval History, in particular women’s medieval history. Her latest book Women of the Anarchy studies the amazing women who controlled the politics of England during this turbulent time in the twelfth century.

Oxford Castle was brought into the conflict while Empress Matilda was besieged here in 1142, and it was from this very site that she made her dramatic escape. Ticket prices £12pp includes glass of wine/juice. £6 for Oxford Preservation Trust members and students with valid OPT membership or student ID.
