Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Join us for a lecture celebrating Dr Ralph Walter’s legacy bequest to endow a new Chair in Modern
British Political History.
The lecture will be given by William Whyte, Professor of Social and Architectural History at St John’s
College, Oxford. Professor Whyte’s publications include Redbrick: a social and architectural history of
Britain’s civic universities (2016) and Unlocking the Church: the lost secrets of Victorian sacred space
(2017). He is chairman of the Oxford Historical Society and the Oxford Preservation Trust.
Ralph Walter is an alumnus of Kellogg College, and an Honorary Member of the Keble Senior
Common Room. Dr Walter has developed the Research Centre in Victorian Political Culture at Keble
in collaboration with his former supervisor Professor Angus Hawkins. His primary research interest is
in the quantitative analysis of Victorian electoral results. Until recently Dr Walter was an executive in
the financial services industry, serving as Chief Operating Officer and Treasurer of Kayne Anderson
