Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Longer life expectancy has also meant longer time spent ill with a chronic condition. To adequately manage a chronic condition requires the use of a monitoring strategy which helps determine if there has been any change. Conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease use different measures/biomarkers as part of this monitoring strategy, but in some cases, the measures show high levels of variability. Understanding how this variability impacts on clinical decision-making is crucial to determine which measures to use and how often to measure.
In this seminar, Rafael will present some examples of research carried out in this area over the last ten years. He is involved in many research programmes using a wide range of expertise to develop innovative methods of analysis and monitoring in primary and secondary research, including diabetes, oral anticoagulation therapy, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease.
