Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Once Oxford Events launches, you will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
Established in 1985, the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco is internationally recognized for its work in queer public history. Its archives are among the largest LGBTQ history collections in the world, and its museum welcomes more than 20,000 visitors annually. Queer public historian Gerard Koskovich, a founding member of the society, offers an inside look at the historical context and creation of the organization, its approaches to conceiving and using the queer and trans past, and the ways it engages with equity and diversity. In addition, he’ll highlight the ongoing importance of community-based history initiatives even as mainstream museums and research libraries begin to address LGBTQ subjects.
