On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

This Kick-off will introduce you to the Python programming language, covering all the major concepts and its features. During the course a problem is posed, and you will use the knowledge you’ve gained to solve these by writing small Python programs, following along with your instructor. Computers and computer programs are based upon logic, so there is a little logical thinking required – along with the application of a little basic arithmetic. In addition, there will be a number of small ‘challenges’ that individuals will attempt to solve themselves. Our tutor will be on hand to help you, as necessary. This course is for people who have little or no experience with coding and programming.
