On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.
If you have any questions, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
This fully illustrated talk will review historic maps of Oxford and the evidence from archaeology and documentary sources for reconstructing the shape of the city from medieval to modern times for the Historic Towns Map and Atlas of Oxford.
Julian Munby was until recently Head of buildings archaeology at Oxford Archaeology and he is a contributor to the mapping project that resulted in the historic towns Map and Atlas of Oxford.
Historic Towns Trust Maps will be available to purchase at the talk.
Sales from tickets help support our work to deliver fun and accessible family activities, community engagement projects, us to buy materials for school sessions, exhibitions and special events for Oxford’s people, in our brand new spaces.
Feel free to bring your lunch, or a coffee from the Town Hall café.
