OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

🌍 Join us on Friday, Feb 23, 2024, at 17:00 in the Nissan Lecture Theatre at St Antony’s College for a profound and reflective panel discussion commemorating the two-year mark since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. While the occasion isn’t one of celebration, it is undeniably significant and calls for our collective attention.
Our panel brings together an array of perspectives, uniting representatives from academia, diplomats, and civil society, as well as Ukrainian and international experts. The discussion is to be moderated by Prof Timothy Garton Ash. The confirmed speakers also include Prof Andrew Wilson of UCL, James Nixey of Chatham House, Viktoriia Vdovychenko of Cambridge, Dr Philippa Webb, and Dr Ievheniia Kopytsia of Oxford University.
The discussion will delve into various critical aspects, providing nuanced insights into the future outlook of the war lasting for the last ten years. Topics will include the current domestic situation in Ukraine, the evolving state of affairs on the battlefield, the enduring impact of sanctions, the freezing of Russian assets, and crucial considerations for holding Russia accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
🚑 This charitable event serves a noble purpose, aiming to raise funds for an ambulance dedicated to supporting Ukrainian defenders who continue to courageously fight for their freedom. Your presence and contribution can make a tangible difference in their efforts.
