OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed on the Staff Gateway and via email to identified OxTalks users.

Please join us for a book launch to mark the publication of three new studies on modern poetry. We’ll be celebrating – and considering the connections between – the following new monographs:
- Engagements with Aimé Césaire: Thinking with Spirits, by Jason Allen-Paisant (University of Manchester)
- Frank O’Hara’s New York School & Mid-Century Mannerism: Perfectly Disgraceful, by Sam Ladkin (University of Sussex)
- The Poetics of Scale: From Apollinaire to Big Data, by Conrad Steel (University of Oxford)
Between them, these studies offer three views on the evolving significance of twentieth-century poetry and the critical possibilities it generates now. Our intention in bringing them together is to foster dialogue between different archives and different approaches in contemporary poetics and beyond. Please note that although this event will consider writing in both English and French, no knowledge of French will be needed to follow the discussion.
A panel discussion between the authors will be followed by a Q&A and a drinks reception.
