To kickstart their newest initiative – the Oxford Cancer Immuno-Oncology Network (OCION) – Oxford Cancer is hosting a launch event on Friday 23rd June at the Ashmolean Museum.
OCION is led by Professor Tim Elliott through Oxford Cancer, with support from Beth Mann, Senior Research Programme Manager. It aims to bring together scientists from different disciplines, cutting-edge technologies and patient samples to progress our immuno-oncology understanding to the next level. By applying Oxford’s leading expertise in fundamental immunology, OCION hopes to enable more patients, with a wide range of cancer types, to benefit safely from tailored immunotherapy use.
The event will consist of short talks followed by a networking drinks reception and will allow attendees to contribute to the OCION strategy. It will also mark the opening of the OCION Funding scheme, which aims to pump-prime innovative Oxford-based immuno-oncology research and build capacity in cancer immunology.
