Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
As communicated previously in the Newsletter, we are planning to hold a research Jamboree at the end of academic year at Magdalen College. While no week was perfect, the selected week is Week 9 of Trinity Term; this is June 20-24th 2022.
The Jamboree comes during exam season so it may require carefully planning of any marking you have to do. But it is not expected that everyone will attend every day of the week with full participation.
The idea is to get together to share ideas and to promote across-field and interdisciplinary research both for the benefits that broader perspectives bring to research, but also to begin to establish communities of scholars ready to apply for significant external research funding.
We will host 5 different sessions over 4 days that week. Rather than comprising purely of the traditional presentation-based workshop format, there will be different forms of interaction and time for discussion and engagement.
The themes that will be covered are:
Thursday 23rd – Gender and Family Economics – Abi Adams-Prassl , Hamish Low , Barbara Petrongolo
