OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
This exhibition presents powerful photo stories created by women and gender-diverse migrants and refugees in Tapachula, Mexico City, and Tijuana, Mexico.
The photo-stories (foto-historias) were created by 57 Latin American and Caribbean migrants and refugees in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico City, and Tijuana, California. This exhibition shows the creations of 12 of them.
These creations were produced between October 2022 and June 2023, through Foto Voz (narrative photography) workshops facilitated by Abril Ríos-Rivera. The workshops focused on how migrants and refugees make strategic life choices, and on whether migration can trigger processes of empowerment.
