OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

This seminar is held in memory of Professor Benno Ndulu, former Governor of the Central Bank of Tanzania, Visiting Professor at the Blavatnik School of Government and Senior Advisor to Digital Pathways at Oxford.
Just before Benno passed away, he had been due to present his recent working paper at the inaugural event of a new seminar series for Digital Pathways at Oxford. It was to have featured his groundbreaking work on how to tax digital systems in Africa. He was immensely excited by this work and its policy implications – his aim was that it would guide policymakers making difficult decisions to address the impacts of digitalisation on the economy.
To honour his wish that this work be widely disseminated, we are glad to invite you to join Stefan Dercon, Professor of Economic Policy at the Blavatnik School, and Cornel Joseph, co-author of the paper and lecturer at the University of Dar Es Salaam, to discuss the paper ‘Digital and fiscal systems: How to tax for innovation’, with Ngaire Woods, Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government. There will be opportunities to ask questions during the seminar.
