OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed on the Staff Gateway and via email to identified OxTalks users.

An unforeseen research, which took place in 2014, with help from the British School at Athens. On Philopappos Hill (west of the Acropolis), three aristocratic graves of the Middle Geometric period were discovered . The graves are connected with the activity of the 7th Lord of Elgin in Greece. This unexpected discovery opened new research perspectives, which led to study Lord Elgin’s archives in Scotland, in order to discover the activity of Giovanni Battista Lusieri, Lord Elgin’s previously unknown agent.
Everyone is very much welcome.
