OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

About the speaker
Ele Fountain writes contemporary fiction for young people. Her books explore subjects which infuse our daily lives, examining the connection between media perception and reality. Her debut novel, Boy 87, won four awards and was nominated for ten more, including the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Her second novel, Lost, was a Guardian Children’s Book of the Year. Fake has been selected as a BookTrust Future Classic. Wild was a Financial Times Best Book of the Year. Her latest novel, Storm Child, was a Times Book of the Week. Before writing, Ele worked as an editor in children’s publishing where she was responsible for launching and nurturing the careers of many prizewinning and bestselling authors. Ele is currently Royal Literary Fund Fellow at University of Reading.
